Good comment, Cyndi eden, and your point taken. But that people read God's Word and find solace in the different editions doesn't mean that some of them have haven't been encoded in various ways by man. You're right, the Bible was destined to be the most important book in the world and may be why it was originally compiled by Church officials, who decided upon which texts to include; it's been edited since by the same Church and other churches and interests.
And, still, the power of the Bible endures, despite, as a history, as a reflection upon human nature, as a profound testament of God's power, righteousness, mercy and love, and as a rendering of the The Word, God's message to us.
To many of us, though, the purest of God's Word is a direct connection and understanding between God and us without any hand of man transcribing the communication. But the written Word offers wisdom and comfort and God's promise of love and salvation though Christ, which is beyond beautiful.
