Waking up this morning to my steaming dark roast French press, I was was quickly reminded of either a book or an article I was reading many years ago, maybe at the brink of Y2K.
Observing the frenzy of people gathering information and hackers creating back doors for every major digital facet of society.
What I was reading at the time was mentioning an internet sequel. Of course I am paraphrasing but it was one of those ideas that stuck to my brain. The possibility of corralling billions of people and trillions of data points on everyone and then pulling the plug, only to open a window instead of a door.
We are almost there.
The internet has absorbed all that it needs at this moment and with just a few more self fulfilling prophecies a totally regulated, AI sponsored machine will welcome you into its world, well maybe your world that it has recreated for you.
