I just talked to my friend in Black Mountain. She finally got through to me on the state of the population in Asheville. [It was really hard for me to grasp the way normal people feel after an event like this, because I thrive in chaotic, dangerous situations and have formal survival training. Imagine That. One of your neighbor's two kids is dead. Your spouse is missing but your kids are OK - only you can't feed them. The house you lived in for the last 20 years is now gone and you didn't have flood insurance... so where you will live is up to how much aid you can get. But you lost your phone, laptop, PC in the house when it went... and there's no electricity anyway. Your other neighbors are missing too and their house isn't habitable anyway. I have met people who have been to Swannanoa and looked at the 800 body location map that two pastors started and the Cajun Nation helped with... that is just one 10-15 mile stretch of one river. Last week I heard that the Toe River had 100 body sites identified on a 5-6 mile stretch. Lake James had 14 located by *Day 8*... and on and on. That's how I can get to 1300 on my tiny network alone.

I am near the top of a steep hill in Rutherford County where some of the relief flights leave from, so I really lucked out. All I had was one big beautiful oak tree split on one of it's trunks and I was out of power for 2 days. The tree isn't stable now, so I'm going to turn it into a den tree, and dedicate it to the thousands who perished in this mass casualty weather modification event.
Because I wasn't impacted, I have built doing relief work (from a distance) into my days. My friend figured out how to get folks to donate to a fund at a gas company near Burnsville to re-charge propane tanks. So I give out flyers for that. The Fedex delivery lady is connected to a team of guys and gals that get supplies and chain saws and go up into the mountains on weekends to help anyone they find. I help fund them and get some of their supplies. I have helped Lake Lure Baptist buy generators. We are going to be doing stuff like this for years... so I've just accepted it.
Tomorrow I am going to Asheville and Black Mountain to get photos and video for a social media project to get folks to report their dead and missing directly to the NC State Executive via the NC Emergency Management Center's Joint Information Center in Raleigh.

Living in Fema Camps for 2 years, I got to meet lots of folks who definitely knew well over 1,000 of my friends and neighbors had been murdered by gruesom and PG and E!
I heard lots of stories from those wo escaped from Paradise, where the majority of deaths occurred in Nursing Homes and retirement trailer parks.
