Your closing about freedom is true about it being a practice, but is it a literal practice like controlling oneself, a belief, or an illusion perpetrated on us? IMHO, it exists in the mind because our thoughts are free, although manipulated, but we can never reach freedom as we think it is. In the literal sense, I do not have freedom to be born, travel, get married, go fishing, buy food, own property, drive a car, etc without the hand of a bank, government or entity and now they track everything. Is freedom is an illusion they want us to believe?

What this discusses is precisely why people should use cash wherever and whenever possible. Only by forcing companies to continue to accept cash--by using cash--can we prevent this sort of corporate tyranny. It is a bit inconvenient at first, until you get used to it (or revert back to it) but that doesn't last long; and, there are a number of ancillary benefits to doing so: no debt accumulation, simpler bank statements to deal with, easier to control spending, etc.
I use cash myself. I take my check and cash it, and only deposit into my checking account just enough to cover bills the night before. If you have ever had your checking account hacked, you'll quickly learn this is the smartest thing to do. Now that this is coming, I'm ready.
Moreover, now that bail-ins are legal in many jurisdictions, the last thing you want to do is keep a lot of money in your bank accounts. The money you deposit makes you an unsecured creditor to the bank; and, all that means is that if bank goes bankrupt, you'll be the last in line to get any money back,--which in most cases would likely means that you won't get anything.

We're in a place where there is very little Separation of Powers between our three branches of government. I'm reading "Disease X: Medical Martial Law" by Todd Callender, Esq. It's really something when you see how many different legal rules and government regulations had to be compromised to get where we are today.
I've followed the acts that led to the on-going C19 global democide, but Mr. Callender takes it much farther back. There are several more critical pieces of legislation out there, that set the stage for the fascist takeover we are living through now - courtesy of the public health agencies and the financial industry.
